Abdominal remodeling
Abdominoplasty, or mini-abdominoplasty, removes excess abdominal skin and tightens the area. Surgeons perform this procedure at the DaVinci Clinic. It can be done alone or combined with liposuction, breast augmentation, or lifting. The goal is to sculpt and tone the abdomen, giving patients a smoother contour and improved muscle definition.
The surgery leaves a small scar on the lower abdomen, which stays hidden underclothing, underwear, or a bikini. Surgeons position it low to keep it discreet. The procedure lasts 2 to 3 hours and uses general anaesthesia. An anaesthetist monitors the patient throughout the operation. At the end, surgeons close all incisions with great care to ensure the best possible aesthetic result.
Abdominal remodeling - Pre-Operative Preparation
- On the day you perform the consultation with the surgeon, you must inform the surgeon if you are allergic to any medication, as well as refer to the doctor if you are taking any medication for health reasons that may influence the performance of the surgical intervention;
- A few days before the operation, you will perform a series of pre-operative examinations which inform the medical staff about your health condition before the operation;
- At least two weeks before surgery, you must stop taking drugs containing Acetylsalicylic Acid (such as Aspirin, Vivin C, Cardiospirin, etc.) and stop taking oral anticoagulants. Discontinuation of any therapy due to surgery must be consulted in advance with your doctor who prescribed the therapy;
- Smoking must be stopped at least two weeks before the intervention;
- The patient must have taken a shower, remove gel or nail polish products the day before the operation, and not consume food or liquids at least eight hours before the intervention;
- We recommend that patients wear comfortable clothes with buttons or zippers on the day of surgery.
Abdominal remodeling - After the operation
Patients should start walking the day after a tummy tuck to help prevent blood clots. Most patients stay in the hospital for two nights under constant medical supervision. After discharge, they attend regular check-ups at the clinic to treat post-operative wounds until full recovery. We recommend resuming normal daily activities about two weeks after surgery. Avoid intense physical activity or heavy lifting for the first 3–4 weeks.
Gradually increase activity after that, especially if you’ve strengthened your abdominal muscles. The results of abdominoplasty and mini-abdominoplasty remain stable over time with a balanced diet and regular exercise. To support long-term results, the DaVINCI Clinic team may recommend a Nutrigenetics test and a personalized diet plan to help improve your eating habits for life.
